Golden Sword by TEATAZE

Updated: Aug 31, 2020

I feel like I'm getting a highly classified sneak peak at this tea since it's not on the website yet! I love that this tea came to me in little drawstring tea sachets.  The sachets were nicely packed in a resealable pouch...great packaging altogether.

Gold Sword is a hand-rolled black tea from China. After steeping for about 6 minutes, I had a dark tea with a heavenly aroma.

I probably could have steeped for about 4 minutes for hot tea since it's pretty strong, 6 minutes would have been perfect for pouring this one over ice.  But, I do love strong tea so, I most certainly didn't mind.

There's a variety of flavors going on in this cup and I'm completely here for it. Roasty, malty, caramely (are those even words?) is the best way that I can explain this tea.  I'm betting that this tea is versatile enough to have as an iced latte as well.

Being from the South, our lives revolve around black tea...that's what our beloved "sweet tea" is made with.  But, sometimes instead of fruity herbals or flavored green, a good black tea is just what needs to be in your hot tea cup.  This is a great choice for just that.  This tea has a very bold flavor and packs a bit of a punch that might get you over that post-lunch hump and through the rest of your work day.  It's a perfect afternoon tea.

There's one tea bag left in my sample pack and I'm tempted to make an iced latte with it in the morning for my (short) drive to work.  Stay tuned....you just might see an update to this review!

In the meantime, get over to https://www.teataze.com/ and look around.  Buy some tea and support this business!  And watch for more updates as I work through my samples!
