Who couldn't use a little extra immunity in their life? I know I always can!
This herbal blend is packed with plenty of goodies to keep your immune system on high alert and help you fight off the sinus and respiratory bugs that are constantly in attack mode. This tea by Her Natural Wellness brings together a handful of beneficial herbs to help your body fight back.
A couple of herbs that are being seen more, especially in herbal teas, are mullein leaf and pau d'arco. Mullein leaf is said to have properties that can quell symptoms like: cough, earaches, chills, sore throat and can even help with flu, whooping cough, and bronchitis. Pau d'arco is known to be a natural anti-microbial and is said to help with asthma due to the anti-inflammatory properties. Probably a good idea to keep this tea around during cold and flu season!
Peppermint and spearmint each have their own unique qualities and are especially good for headaches and nausea that can accompany whatever is ailing you...and they taste great!
Echinacea is one of the most well known herbs associated with the common cold and flu. Research shows that it can boost the immune system and may even shorten the duration of a cold or the flu!
So, how does it taste? It's good! I will say this: it is a tad bitter. The recommended steep time is 20 minutes. That's a long time compared to most teas so, there's plenty of time for the hot water to draw out all of the goodness from the herbs. I personally like a little bitterness so, I didn't add very much agave; just a little to smooth it out. If the bitterness is too much for your taste, just sweeten it up a bit more.
