I know, I know…it’s not summer. I don’t even care! I will drink hibiscus iced tea ALL YEAR.
Every time a get a new hibiscus blend for iced tea, I think to myself, “man, this is the best one I’ve had yet”. Well, I’m pretty sure I just said it for the last time because this blend from Oribe Tea Co is SOOO addictive!
It’s hard to go wrong with hibiscus in a tea, especially iced tea and, these pitcher-sized bags brew up the most magical iced tea. It’s extra refreshing and cooling with the addition of spearmint which, leaves you with almost a lemony finish when you mix it with hibiscus. Hibiscus is packed with antioxidants and is rumored to be good for your heart and cholesterol levels and may contribute to regulating blood glucose levels.
What’s really awesome about this tea is the extra goodies they threw in there. Ready?
First, Yerba maté! I’m loving yerba maté more and more by the day. The bold, earthy-bitter addition gives a nice caffeinated kick to this herbal iced tea. Not to mention the many health benefits it offers.
Next up is mamaki. What is mamaki? Glad you asked! Mamaki is a plant that is native to Hawaii. It has a host of health benefits: promotes healthy liver and cardiovascular health, reduces stress levels and is high in antioxidants. So, what’s it taste like? Well, I had to do a bit of research to learn about this plant and on its own, it’s said that it has a bit of a green tea flavor. There’s just a hint of it noticeable in this tea so, we’ll go with that…green-tea-ish.
So, not only do you get a crisp, clean, and delicious cold brewed iced tea; you get to reap all the health benefits of the organic ingredients.
I WILL be investing in a large order of this tea for the hot months of the summer. I highly recommend that you give it a try. Stay tuned for more reviews of this brand in the coming weeks. Check out their website to see their other cold brews and loose teas.
