Here I go again. I had one of those moments with this tea…a few quiet seconds with “mmmm, oooh, aaahh”, followed by my little happy dance. I can’t seem to put this cup down and, I’ve already got a second infuser filled, waiting to steep.
Black teas always take me back to my childhood. Most nights, my mom would brew me a cup of plain black tea with a little milk and sugar and an ice cube to cool it down faster. Forty-plus years ago…seems like yesterday.
It’s amazing to me, how the regions and varieties of black teas can have so many different flavor notes and aromas. Honey Bud by Herald Tea is a beautiful, full-leaf black tea that has an intoxicating aroma and a natural sweet taste. Much different than the “plain ole” black tea that I started out with as a kid; this tea has notes of sweet honey, mild woody flavor and a light maltiness that come together perfectly in a decadent cup of tea. I love watching the little golden leaves unfurl while it steeps, too. It is absolutely perfect on its own, but if you like English style tea, you will LOVE this with milk and sugar.
I’ll have a review of another variety from Herald Tea coming soon; no doubt it will be amazing. While you wait for that, head over to their site and pick up a bag of Honey Bud. I highly recommend it and I bet it just might be your new favorite black tea.
Thanks so much for the review! Perfectly described.
