HOLY LEMON! If you love lemon, this brew is gonna be your new best friend. There are several different types of lemon flavorings in the ingredients along with apple and sage. But, the lemon is so prominent that the other ingredients are hardly noticeable. Not a bad thing!
I get just a hint of sage, mostly an aftertaste and maybe a slight essence when it's a fresh, hot cup. But, after my first sip of the hot cuppa, I immediately knew I wanted this over ice. It's mildly sweet and doesn't need a thing added to it, in my opinion.
I was having a bit of a rough day before I picked my afternoon tea. This blend is like a cup of sunshine...bright and cheerful and just what I needed to lift my spirit. The fresh aroma of the lemons and the sweet/tart flavor reminded me of fresh squeezed lemonade from the county fair. This is just a "happy" tea!
This would be a perfect tea to pack for picnics, a day at the beach, or just sittin' by the pool. It's so amazingly refreshing and crisp, it's the perfect drink to keep you cooled down on a hot day. And although I feel like iced is the only way to go with this tea, drinking it hot might be just thing to sooth a sore throat or even to use with your favorite hot toddy recipe.
