I continue to be amazed by the flavor combinations available from Nelson's Tea. Who would have thought to make a tea blend with Mexican chocolate? Well...they did...and it works!
I tried this a couple of different ways before I decided what was the best (at least for my taste). It was delicious all on it's own and even more flavorful with a little milk and sugar. BUT...let me tell you what made it the very best: brewed in milk. It was so creamy and delicious! I brought some almond milk to a simmer and dumped in a hefty tablespoon of this tea blend, put the lid on, and let it simmer for about 4 minutes and then removed from the heat to steep another 4 minutes. Here's why I think this worked so much better: there are tiny little chocolate chips in this blend; when it's simmering, the chocolate chips have a chance to melt and blend in with the milk. I got so much more of the chocolate flavor with this method! AND, something even more exciting? I cooled part of it off and made myself I nice iced latte. So delicious!
I recently did a review on a couple of other teas from Nelson's so, you may have already checked out their website. If not, go check them out and stay tuned for more reviews on these delectable blends.
