Have you tried a jaffa cake? I’ve never had the pleasure and, after sipping this tea, I’m sad that I don’t have a cabinet full of them to enjoy with my tea! Jaffa cakes are a popular treat in the UK and I can’t say that I’ve ever seen them here in the US. They are about the size of a cookie and are made up of a piece of sponge cake, a layer of orange jam, and topped with a chocolate coating. If they taste anything like this amazing Spiced Jaffa Cake tea by SaChasi, I’m definitely going to have to find a place that will ship them to me!
The aroma of this brew is absolutely sinful. It kind of smelled like freshly baked shortbread with a hint of orange. The flavor? My goodness…it’s so…delectable. Smooth Ceylon black tea (my favorite) is perfectly blended with orange peel, cacao nibs and cacao powder for the perfect balance of “chorange” flavor. A little cinnamon and nutmeg give it a mild spice to create a delicious treat in your cup. I could easily drink this every day and not get tired of it!
My first cup was delicious with no additives, BUT I sweetened my second cup and added a little almond milk. WOW! So creamy and dreamy! I’m trying to watch my sugar intake so, I haven’t been adding cookies or biscuits to my evening tea session. With this tea, I didn’t miss my sweets…it’s a sweet treat all by itself!
I’m excited to try my other samples from SaChasi; I expect that they will be just as amazing as this flavor. While you’re waiting on more reviews, check out their site for this and other blends. They all sound so yummy!
