I decided to review these two teas together since they have similar profiles. It took me a while to get all my notes together since I tried them hot and then did cold brews with each at different times. Here we go!
Peach Raspberry Punch – this blend is made with green rooibos. I haven’t been able to experience green rooibos on it’s own yet so, I’m not sure how the flavor differs from red rooibos, however I definitely got the sweet notes of rooibos and honey bush in this blend. I knew with the first sip that this would be a perfect cold brew…I was right! The hibiscus gave it’s famous tart flavor and the orange peel added just the right amount of bitter that I love. Beautiful cold brew! Clean, refreshing, and quenching!
Pineapple Melon Punch- this was definitely my favorite of the two “punch” blends. I’m not sure I tasted a strong melon flavor, but the apple and pineapple pieces gave this rooibos tea a perfect fruity twist. Tart cranberry and hibiscus rounded out with just a tiny hint of floral essence. I enjoyed it plain as a hot brew first, BUT the cold brew was absolutely amazing.
I’ve got a handful of other flavors from Nelson’s Tea that I can’t wait to review. While you’re waiting for more updates on those, check out their site. There’s some delicious looking blends!
