I know…tropical blends are out of season. Not for me! I’ll drink them year-round, hot or iced. And, I LOVE LOVE LOVE white tea.
I did two brews on this one so that I could share them both with you in one review.
When I connected with this company, they offered to let me choose a tea. With the summer fading, I chose this one to keep me connected with sun, heat, frozen drinks, and boating on the lake.
First up, the trusty hot brew. Let me first say, opening this bag of tea was like stepping into the Caribbean. Coconut and pineapple are reminiscent of a frosty pina colada on a sandy beach. Who doesn’t like to dream of sand between your toes? I was really pleased with this blend. Sometimes, those tropical flavors can overpower the natural flavor of the tea, especially a mild white tea. But, this blend was well balanced. The smooth, mild flavor of the white tea was just gently kissed with a touch of the brisk essence of coconut and pineapple. A squeeze of agave gave the flavors an extra boost…perfect for a mid-day sip.
Now on to the cold brew. This one didn’t come out the way I’d hoped. Make no mistake…it was good. As a rule, I double the amount of tea for my cold brews which, usually turns out perfectly. However, the fruits really jumped to the front on this one and it completely covered up the white tea flavor. It’s still delicious if you’re looking for tropical flavors. I think I can still make it a perfect cold brew by adding extra, plain white tea. Stand by for a mini-review on that!
